Job Overview

The Human Resources Generalist (HRG) supports the human factor in the company by
guiding and managing the overall provisions of the Human Resources services, policies,
and programs for the entire company, including recruiting and staffing, performance
management; new employee orientation and training; policy development and document,
compensation, payroll, and benefits administration; wellness and health; employee services
and counseling. The HRG is a trusted advisor to the president providing guidance and
direction in the areas of all employer-employee matters. The HRG will collaborate with the
president on operational assignments.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organizations human
    resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs,
    recruiting, retention, and succession planning
  •  Provides support and guidance to management and staff when complex, specialized,
    and sensitive questions and issues arise; may be required to administer and execute
    routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations,
    investigating allegations of wrongdoing
  •  Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
  • Manages the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing,
    and hiring of qualified job applicants, collaborates with departmental managers to
    understand skills and competencies required for openings
  • Analyzes trends in compensation and benefits; researches and proposes competitive
    base and incentive pay programs to ensure the organization attracts and retains top
    talent
  • Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal
    development opportunities for employees
  • Provide backup support to Office Admin/Manager in securing temporary warehouse
    staffing
  • Planning team events and holiday functions
  • Partner with Quality Assurance Manager for safety compliance
  • Complete yearly 5500 and OSHA 300A reporting
  • Provide president with daily updates either via email or during end of the day in person
    meetings.
  • Process benefit forms from new employees and those employees whose status has
    changed from part-time to full-time and answer any questions
  • Partner with owner on yearly benefit renewal options (medical, dental, vision, life, and
    401K)
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations,
    and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
    and update employee handbook when necessary
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new
    technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
  • Other operational duties as assigned by president

  • Motivated and possess the ability to work independently with or without supervision
    Required Education and Work Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, PHR or SHRM-CP
    certification preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Experience with Paychex desired
  • Knowledge of contemporary human resources principles, practices, and processes
  • Working knowledge of state and federal regulations affecting human resources
  • Superior organizational skills and keen attention to detail
  • Benefit administration experience preferred
  • Reliable and detail-oriented required

 

Working conditions and physical requirements

 

  • Work is performed in our Woodinville headquarters
  • Position is primarily sedentary in nature; there are no special physical demands
